Friends of ASCCA: What Lizzie is Looking Forward to in the Next Year

There are so many things I’m looking forward to in the next year. I’m looking forward to all the new memories, growth, and learning I’ll do in 2021.

In 2021, I’m hoping to get closer to the girls in my sorority. It was hard getting to really bond and form a strong connection with many of the girls in Alpha Gam because I was commuting from Birmingham to Montgomery. I would barely see them and have a chance to really hang out with them. During the spring semester though, I’m coming back to live on campus at AUM. Hopefully I’ll form stronger bonds with the girls and get to hang out with them outside of sorority meetings.

That’s one thing I’m looking forward to. Another thing I’m looking forward to is getting closer with not only my sorority sisters but my other friends as well. I don’t get to see my friends all that often. I still didn’t get to see my friends a whole lot when Covid-19 wasn’t a thing. I’m hoping this year I’ll continue to strengthen the friendships I have with my friends and hopefully see them more than I usually do. I don’t know if that’ll happen though. Life can get pretty busy sometimes.

Throughout every single year, you grow and learn a lot and I think I did quite a lot of that in 2020. There were a bunch of ups and downs, but every year has a bunch of ups and downs. Through all those ups and downs, we learn and grow. I have learned and grown a lot and will continue to through the years. I’m excited to do some more of growing and learning in the new year. Growing and learning makes you a better person. It has certainly made me a better person.

There’s another thing I’m looking forward to big time that’s going to happen in 2021. I can’t really say, at least right now, but I’m going to be going through a huge transition. It’ll involve me having new experiences and meeting new people who could potentially become new friends. I absolutely cannot wait.

In general, I cannot wait to see what 2021 will bring, even if there’ll be a pandemic still around.
