Session 5: Camp ASCCA Is for Family!

The ASCCA family just got a little bit bigger! This week we welcome two new members to the ASCCA family. Josie Smith and her mother Catherine are at Camp ASCCA for their very first time!

Josie has loved trying all of our activities here at Camp!

Josie and her mother are from Madison, Alabama. Josie’s family first learned about Camp from when they attended a Joni and Friends family camp that was held here at Camp ASCCA. Once they learned that Camp ASCCA held its own camp for children and adults with disabilities, they knew that Josie had to be a part of it!

Nurse Catherine helps Josie get ready for a ride on the Giant Swing.

As a first time camper, Josie has participated in almost every single Camp activity. She is a thrill-seeker, so her favorite activity is the giant swing! She has loved the time she has spent at Camp and all of the new friends she has made throughout the week.

Josie’s mother Catherine is here as a guest nurse this week. She has loved being here with Josie and seeing all of the great things Camp has to offer.

Nurse Catherine has been a wonderful addition to our nursing staff this week. She has been extremely involved with Josie and all of her fellow campers. Her favorite part of being at Camp with Josie has been getting to see her try so many new things!

Our staff has absolutely loved getting to know Josie and Catherine this week!

We are so thankful for our ASCCA family that continues to grow week after week. Catherine and Josie are both amazing people to have here, and we are so happy that they are here this week!
