Elks Day 2023

“Elks Care, Elks Share”… a motto that the Alabama Elks Association members are constantly bringing to life at Camp ASCCA. Since 1976 Camp ASCCA has been serving children and adults with physical and intellectual disabilities through outdoor recreation. Camp ASCCA is a special place where campers with disabilities have the opportunity to express their individuality and independence within a supervised setting.

A huge part of Camp ASCCA’s success is thanks to individuals generosity and support of individuals, civic groups, and businesses in Alabama. The Alabama Elks are no exception. Every year, members of the Elks give generously to better Camp ASCCA and all of the lives we are able to serve.

Camp ASCCA staff welcomed almost 100 Alabama Elks on August 5, 2023 to show appreciation for their many years of dedication. A few lodges came together and provided lunch for all guests while others toured the Camp ASCCA facilities.

In total $5,110 was donated to Camp ASCCA. Cahaba Valley Lodge gave $110 for two Dining Hall chairs. Gulf Coast Lodge gave $1,000 for Jingle Jump. Dothan Lodge gave $2,500 for a general donation. Mary Gifford gave $500. Lastly, Bessemer Lodge gave a memorial for 10 deceased members this year.

Other Lodges in attendance include, Mobile, Alexander City, Decatur, Tuscaloosa, Fairhope, Auburn-Opelika, Childersburg, Cullman, Calera, Roebuck Anniston, and Gadsden Gulf Coast.

For many years the Alabama Elks Association have sponsored numerous capital projects, camperships, and so much more, in addition to their annual $50,000 donation.

We are so grateful to the Alabama Elks for the continuous support and generosity that they show Camp ASCCA year after year.
